Abstract:
To obtain a biodegradable cushioning material comprising a natural pulp fiber most preferable for the environmentals, excellent in weight (low density), air permeability, moisture permeability and cushioning characteristics.
This cushioning material for a helmet comprises a low-density material having 0.05-0.40 g/cm3 obtained by deliquoring and drying an aqueous slurry containing a curled fiber having 0.4-1.0 wet curl factor as a main raw material. In the operation, preferably the aqueous slurry contains a microfilament having ≥0.15 bond strengthening factor and the cushioning material is subjected to waterproofing treatment and/or water-repellent treatment.
