PURPOSE: To improve cutting property while compacting the whole device by constituting a cutting member from fixed blade made of a rigid body and a wire to tighten the wire only when it contacts the fixed blade.

CONSTITUTION: A sheet of paper 2 supplied from a roll paper body 1 is clamped by a feed roll 3 and a pinch roll 4 to be supplied and cut off in a predetermined length by a cutter device as the feed roll 3 is rotated. In this case, a cutter device is constituted from a fixed blade 6 secured fixedly to a cutter base 5 and a cutting wire 7 having one end fixed to said base 5 and the other end freely lowered. One end 9 of the wire 7 is secured fixedly to a cam 10 with a set screw 16 and the cam 10 is connected to a shaft 13 of a motor 14. Thus, the wire 7 is tightened for cutting by the rotation of the cam 10 driven by the motor only when the wire contacts the fixed blade 6.
