To cut elongated rod-form vegetables in a sliced state by a method wherein a cut through which the constituting wall of a holding body axially passes and a tongue piece to press the upper end of a rod-form vegetable inserted in the holding body are formed at a part of the periphery of a press plate.
Rod-form vegetables, such a cucumber, cut to proper lengths are inserted in a holding body 32 and when a press plate 25 is inserted in an annular tool 21 from above with blade plates 22 nipped by the cut groove 27 of the annular tool 21, tongue pieces 29 formed at the peripheral part of the press plate 25 are positioned above vegetables and a cut 28 is positioned corresponding to the constitution wall 32' of the holding body 32. Thereby, by pressing the press plate 25 as it is rotated by a handle 23, the rod-form vegetables are cut, in order, in round slices from a lower end by a blade plate 19 in such an attitude that the vegetables are held in the vertical direction crossing the bottom plate 15 at right angles.
