Title:
CUTTING AND CORRECTING METHOD OF LAYING-RAIL TREAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06228902
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To maintain rails, prolong the life thereof, and reduce train jolts and vibration noise.

CONSTITUTION: Because there is a difference more or less in length between inside and outside rails 1 and 1a in a curve section of a laying-rail, when a wheel 2a on the inside rail 1a runs on the curve section, it runs on the same head surface repeatedly and is cut little by little to cause corrugation of rail. In the curve section, a flange 3 of an outside wheel 2 is strongly pushed against the track side of the head section of the rail 1 outward on the principle of centrifugal force and is in a state to adhere to the rail 1. Accordingly, a flange 3a of the wheel 2a is separated from the head section of the inside rail 1a by a portion of the slack + the outside flange 3 pushed by the outside rail 1, and the tire surface only of the wheel 2a runs on the tread to cause corrugation of rail on the entire surface of the head section of the inside rail 1a. Accordingly, traces of the entire surface of the head section of the inside rail 1a are traced for cutting and correcting the tread, and the head section is put in two parts in the shape of a mountain with the traceline (m) as the center to prevent the tire surface of the wheel 2a from contacting with the head section.
