PURPOSE: To improve the working efficiency by an automatic system wherein all of the setting of base plate on a guide table, moving of the table, cutting of base plate and taking out the cut base plate are carried out automatically.

CONSTITUTION: The base plate 4 is placed on the base plate fixing guide table 12 by means of a known placing device of the vacuum type, and positioned by a pin 13. The table 12 is moved by the drive of a motor 24, and a Y-direction cutting cutter 14 is driven to cut by another motor 15. In this while, a transverse direction cutter fixing plate 23 is moved by a motor 16 to perform the cutting of the base plate in the Y direction. Then, the table 12 is moved, and X-direction cuttig cutter 19 is positioned so as to perform the cutting of the base plate in the X direction. After the completion of the cutting operation, the base plate is taken out and piled by a known automatic taking-out device.
