Abstract:
To provide a cutting device capable of suitably cutting a viscous sheet medium.SOLUTION: The cutting device comprises: a sheet attribute information acquisition unit that acquires attribute information regarding properties of a sheet medium to be cut; an attribute threshold determination unit that determines whether or not an attribute value indicated by the acquired attribute information of the sheet medium is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold value; and a cutting process execution unit for executing a cut process on the basis of a determination result. The cut processing execution unit acquires attribute information regarding viscosity of the sheet medium to be cut, and when it is determined that the viscosity of the sheet medium is equal to or higher than a predetermined viscosity threshold, a cutter is moved temporarily in a direction of separating the cutter from the sheet medium every time when a distance of a cut line formed on the sheet medium exceeds a preset set distance, and then the cutter is moved back in a direction of contacting with the sheet medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
