The cutting tool 1 is made of metal and is formed to be an almost cylindrical shape, and a plurality of protrusions and recessed grooves form continuous wavy unevenness when viewed from the front part. On a cutting edge surface of a front end of the cutting tool 1, a plurality of protrusions and recessions are alternately provided in a radial direction with respect to a center axis, and the protrusions and the recessions form continuous wavy unevenness when viewed from a side part. In order to cut the work material W by the cutting tool 1, the cutting tool 1 rotated around a tool spindle 15 as the center is approached in the state that the work material W is rotated around a spindle 14 as the center.
