To provide a cutting tool which cuts a surface extending in a direction crossing a rotation shaft thereof, wherein the cutting tool achieves cutting by carrying out a plurality of cutting steps by means of a generally applicable machining center etc., without using a cutting tool of a complicated structure or a special machine tool for driving the complicated cutting tool for rotation and reciprocation.
The cutting tool 1 is formed of a tool main body 2 rotating about an axis O, and a slide section 10 supported by the main body in a manner slidable in a direction crossing the axis O, and having a cutting tip 5 at a front end thereof. The tool main body 2 has a channel 12 arranged therein, for feeding fluid pressure to the slide section 10 to slide the same, and the channel 12 has a changeover mechanism 21 for changing over flow of fluid by using centrifugal force generated when the tool main body 2 is driven for rotation, to thereby change over directions A in which the slide section 10 slides.
