PURPOSE: To make it possible to weigh automatically an entangled article, such as garnishings to be served with sliced raw fish, so that it may have a prescribed target weight, and to ensure a high operation efficiency and a high weighing accuracy.

CONSTITUTION: A supply conveyor 10 which transfers an article to be weighed from a supply part, a weighing conveyor 20 which is disposed on the downstream side of the conveyor 10 and measures the weight of the article transferred onto it from the conveyor 10, and a cutter 41 which is interposed between these conveyors 10 and 20 and cuts the article stretching on the two conveyors 10 and 20, are provided. The speed of the two conveyors 10 and 20 is made slow in stages as the weight shown by a signal from the weighing conveyor 20 approaches a target weight, and the two conveyors 10 and 20 are stopped when the weight shown by the signal reaches the target weight. After the conveyors are stopped, the cutter 41 is made to operate to cut off the article stretching on the two conveyors 10 and 20, and thereby the article so weighed as to have the target weight is obtained.
