Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Compound of formula I [A is phenyl, furyl, thienyl; B is pyridyl, phenyl; R is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, group of formula IV (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl; n is 1W3) or formula V (R3 is lower alkyl; n is 4, 5) or their acid adducts.
EXAMPLE: N-Cyano-N'-[α-(2-pyridyl)-o-methylbenzyl]guanidine.
USE: Antitumorigenic, antidepressant, local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory or diuretic.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula II and an isothiourea or isourea of formula III (Y is lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio) are subjected to reaction by standing them together at room temperature or with heating in the presence or absence of a solvent such as methanol to give a compound of formula I in one step.
