A cyclic amide derivative represented by the general formula [I] [-A-B- is -N-CH(CH3)-, -N-O-, -C=C(CH3)- or the like; X is a halogen, an alkyl, or the like; (m) is an integer of 1 or 2; (n) is an integer of 1 to 3; R1 is -COR3 or the like; R3 is an alkyl, an alkoxy, benzyloxy, or the like]. The herbicide contains the compound as an active ingredient.
