PURPOSE: To obtain a new cyclic amide derivative exhibiting excellent weeding activity to injurious weed generating in paddy field or upland field in soil treatment or stem and leaf-treatment and exhibiting high safety to crop and useful as an active component of a herbicide.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by the formula {A-B is N-CH(CH3), N-N(CH3), N-O, etc.; X is H, a halogen, a (halo)alkyl, a (halo)alkoxy, etc.; R1 is [a 1-5 pieces of substituted (Y-substituted) halogen, (halo)alkyl, (halo)alkoxy, etc.] phenyl, a (Y-substituted) benzoyl, a (Y-substituted) naphthalene-2-yl, a (Y-substituted) anilinocarbonyl, etc.; m is 1 or 2; n is 1-3}. For instance,N-(5- chloro-4-trifluoromethylthiazole-2-yl)-2-(4-methyl-2-oxo-3-phenyl-3-pyrroline-1-yl)- isobutylamide.
