CONSTITUTION: A compd. of formula I [X is carbimino, CO, CS, SO, SO2; Y is an alkylene, an alkenylene which may be substd. with Rc, Rd, a 1,2- cycloalkylene, 1,2-phenylene, etc.; one of Ra to Rd is A-B-C (A is an aminoalkyl, amidino, gunidino, etc.; B is a bond, an alkylene, an alkenylene, phenylene, etc.; C is an alkylene, phenylene, ingrenine, etc.), a second group is F-E-D (D is an alkylene, phenylene, etc.; E is a bond, an alkylene, pyridinylene, etc.; F is carbonyl, sulfo, etc.), a third group is H, an alkyl, an aryl, etc.; a fourth group is H, an alkyl, an aralkyl, etc.]; for example, 1-(4-amidinophenyl)-3-[4-(2- carboxy-ethyl)-phenyl]-imidazolin-2-one.
