Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new cyclohexenone compound useful as an improver for cerebral function, especially a therapeutic agent for sequela of cerebral apoplexy, having excellent improving action on cerebral function.
CONSTITUTION: A cyclohexenone compound of formula I [R1 is pyridyl, thiazolyl, benzothiazolyl or morpholino; R2 is H or (halogenated) phenyl or pyridyl; R3 is H, methyl or halogen; R4 is H, methyl or phenyl; R5 is H or methyl; R5 is H or phenyl; n is 0 or 1] such as 3-[(3-pyridyl)amino]-2-cyclohexen-1-one. The cyclohexenone compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a 1,3- cyclohexanedione of formula II with an amine of formula III.
