Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A 3-fluoro-2-hydroxy-1-substituted-4-hydroxymethylcyclopentane derivative expressed by formula I (B is residue of nucleic acid bases, azide, amino or amino having protecting group; R1 and R2 are H or protecting group).
EXAMPLE: 4β-Acetamido-3β-hyroxy-2α-fluoro-1β-cyclopentane methyl acetate.
USE: Fluorine-containing nucleosides having high chemical stability and synthetic intermediate therefor.
PREPARATION: An epoxide expressed by formula II [R3 is azide or (protected) amino] is fluorinated with a fluorinating agent to introduce fluorine atom. into the 3-position and, as necessary, deprotection, formation of skeleton of nucleic acid bases, etc., are carried out to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
