PURPOSE: To improve the economic effect of a cleaning device of a rubber blanket cylinder of a rotary offset printing press by increasing the speed of a cylinder to be cleaned and programming a control device so that the period of a cleaning process itself is decreased.
CONSTITUTION: A control device 12 is provided beforehand to control all functions of a cleaning device 10, the rotation and stop conditions of a feed roll 8 and a storing roll 9, and a nozzle beam 11, wherein the control device is designed in the form of a microprocessor control which can be programmed. And in a cleaning step, the cleaning device is operated at full speeds, and to obtain approximately equal degree of cleaning at any speed, the control device is designed so as to decrease the period of the cleaning program at high speeds. By this method, the number of revolution of a rubber blanket cylinder 2 during the cleaning step can be made almost unchanged at any speeds. Thus, a cleaning work can be performed at high rotation speeds, and effective printing time can be optimized and material losses can be minimized so that the cylinder cleaning device can be improved so as to produce economic effects.
