Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method manufacturing a cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine, simultaneously having a high strength characteristic in addition to sliding performance, by setting of a simple condition at a low cost.
SOLUTION: A cast iron molten metal 2 of hyper eutectic composition having a graphite spheroidized component is cast in a centrifugal casting mold 1, this casting mold 1 is rotated at a prescribed speed, centrifugal force and a fading phenomenon are utilized, an inner side cast iron layer 4 crystallizing graphite of shape similar to flake graphite is formed in an inner side part in the vicinity of the center of the casting mold 1, and an outer side cast iron layer 6 crystallizing spheroidal graphite is formed in an outer side part abutting to a casting mold wall surface.
