The cylinder used for a pipe for supplying and draining water, a filter, etc., is obtained by winding the multi-layer structured fiber 1 consisting of base materials almost equal in thermal elasticity into a hollow structure and preparing fiber layers 3 formed by bonding the region between the multi-layer structured fibers 1 by fusion through the outermost melting layers 2. The multi-layer structured fibers 1 wound into a hollow structure are subjected to heat treatment to once melt the melting layers 2 and then are cooled to solidify the layers 2 again so that a cylinder having a fixed shape is formed. The obtained cylinder is cut into dimensions suitable for transportation and then the cut cylinders are connected to one another through various joints at a construction site to carry out piping work. When these cylinders are used, the diameter, shape, length, etc., of the cylinder can be freely changed so that the weight saving and the improvement of the pressure resistance and the filtration accuracy can be achieved.
