Title:
CYLINDRICAL NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTIC SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06318465
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To smoothly insert a spiral electrode element into a battery can even when the clearance between the battery can inner wall and the element is small, and improve cycle characteristic and productivity by covering the outermost circumferential part of the element with a metal foil.

CONSTITUTION: A metal foil (stainless steel foil) 2 is wound once on the outer circumference of a spiral electrode element 1, and its winding end part is fixed by sticking an adhesive tape 3 to the foil 2 outer circumferential surface. A negative electrode lead 4 is welded to a negative electrode current collector, and a positive electrode lead 5 to a positive electrode current collector. The outermost circumferential part of the element 2 is covered with the foil 2, whereby it is the foil 2 that is directly slide onto a battery can inner wall at inserting the element 1 into the battery can, even when the dimension of the element 1 is made to minimize the clearance between the battery can inner wall and the element 1. Since trouble such that the separator of the element is caught by a fine projection or wrinkles by the direct slide to the battery can inner wall can be thus prevented, satisfactory heavy loading characteristic and cycle characteristic can be provided, and productivity can be also improved.
