Title:
CYLINDRICAL WARP STREAK SOLID ELECTROLYTE FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3419238
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical warp streak solid electrolyte fuel cell which can uniformly generate power in each part of the cell and which can prevent the occurrence of cracks due to thermal stress related to a heat spot of the cell.
SOLUTION: A fuel cell 3 comprises a cylindrically formed air pole 11, an interconnector 17 extending over the air pole 11 in an axial direction, a solid electrolyte film 13 covering the surface of a large part of the air pole 11, and a fuel pole 15 formed on the solid electrolyte film 13. By a slurry coat method, the solid electrolyte film 13 excluding its edge is formed with the accuracy of film thickness deviation of not over ±5%. Moreover, the edge of the electrolyte film 13 is formed in overlapping relation with the edge of the interconnector 17. The width of the same overlap is in the range of 0.5 to 1.5mm. The overlapped portion of the solid electrolyte film 13 is formed so that it is made thinner as it approaches its end.
