PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a compact and inexpensive DC power supply device.SOLUTION: A DC power supply device includes a reactor (L1) connected to an AC power supply (VS) that outputs an AC voltage (vs) having an effective value of not less than 100 V and not more than 230 V, a rectifier circuit (10) for converting the AC voltage (vs) to a DC voltage (Vd) and applying the voltage to a load (H) while performing switching so as to appropriately short-circuit the reactor (L1) to the AC power source (VS), and a controller (M) for selecting any one operation mode of a first operation mode (partial switching mode) in which switching is performed once or more and 20 times or less in a half cycle of the AC voltage (vs) and a second operation mode (high-speed switching mode) in which switching is performed 80 times or more in a half cycle of the AC voltage (vs), based on a comparison result between a load correspondence amount as an amount to increase or decrease according to increase/decrease of the load (H) and a predetermined threshold value. The inductance value of the reactor (L1) is set in the range from not less than 3 mH to not more than 6 mH.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
