To provide a DA converter with low current consumption.
The DA converter has a segment type DA converter 11 and an R-2R resistor ladder type DA converter 21. The segment type DA converter 11 is connected to a power supply voltage VDD and outputs a current signal which varies gradually according to an upper bit D[7:5] to be input. The R-2R resistor ladder type DA converter 21 is connected between the power supply voltage VDD and a ground voltage GND in series with the segment type DA converter 11 and outputs an output voltage Vout which varies gradually. The R-2R resistor ladder type DA converter 21 changes the output voltage Vout by boosting or stepping down a reference voltage Vref according to a lower bit D[4:0] and the current signal from the segment type DA converter 11.
