Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically and precisely control a dam, by combining two controlling systems for controlling water level at a fixed level by means of the most suitable control calculation and for controlling the change of target water levels in the controlling system for controlling water level at a fixed level. CONSTITUTION:A means which determines a discharging quantity performs the most suitable control calculation for minimizing a prefixed objective function based on an estimated value for inflowing quantity into the reservoir of a dam. Then the water level of the reservoir is found from a value calculated by using the discharging quantity determined by the above mentioned means and aforementioned estimated value for inflowing quantity. Moreover, by comparing the maximum value of the water level of the reservoir and the water level when the dam is filled with water with each other, a target water level in the most suitable calculation is determined and the water level is raised or lowered in accordance with the target water level. Therefore, the water level of the dam does not exceed the highest level in an estimated range and the maximum storing quantity can be always maintained.
