To provide a dam water level control system that adds data about levels of water at upstream points in the same water system of a dam to the criteria for determining whether or not control is required, thereby making it possible to determine whether or not control is required while taking changes in inflow in the near future into account, and ensuring that the level of reservoir water can be maintained at a reference level.
The dam water level control system has a processing part 30, the processing part 30 having an input process part 21 for inputting data 1 about the level of reservoir water in the dam, data 2 about the opening of a gate, and data about water levels at upstream points in the same water system as the dam, a control determining process part 31 for determining whether or not control is required based on the data inputted to the input process part, and a control amount processing part 32 for calculating the amount that the gate is controlled. The control determining process part determines at predetermined time intervals whether the current level of reservoir water belongs to an opening control section, a closing control section, or a dead section where no control is executed, all of which sections are set with respect to the reference level. Based on the result of this determination, the control determining process part then determines whether or not to control the gate using data about the levels of reservoir water in the dam at the times of the previous and current determinations as to whether or not control is required and about the levels of water at the upstream points.
