PURPOSE: To lenghten the lifetime of the bearing of a body of revolution by rotating the body of revolution at high speed and damping vibrations generated in a structure only when wind velocity near the top of the structure exceeds a threshold value.
CONSTITUTION: A gyrostabilizer 2 is installed near the top section of a structure 1. When wind velocity measured by an anemometer 12 exceeds a threshold, value a main controller 24 transmits an operation signal of ON over a main shaft driver 25 and a gimbal driver 26, and a main shaft motor 11 is turned at high speed. When vibrations are generated, on the other hand, the acceleration of vibrations is detected by acceleration sensors 14, 15, angular velocity generating gyro-moment is obtained according to specified procedure by a control computing element, and a control indication based on the angular velocity is transmitted over the gimbal driver 26 and a motor 9 for turning is revolved. Accordingly, the direction of moment by the revolution at high speed of a high-speed revolution body 10 works in the direction that the vibrations of the structure 1 are damped.
