Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the hardware scale small, to reduce the cost, and to decrease the transmission time of data transmission by utilizing deviation in incidence probability of each bit, that is, each plane of an object picture element so as to enhance a compression rate in the case of coding.
SOLUTION: When color picture element data 1 are received by a color sequential conversion section 3, the data are rearranged in response to a frequency of appearance of color and the data are converted into serial data 1b by a parallel serial conversion section 4. A 1st state signal generating means 6 generates a 1st state signal PBP every time the means 6 receives a bit signal of the data 1b. On the other hand, reference picture element data 1c from a line buffer 5 are given to a reference picture element degeneration device 8, which generates a 2nd state signal SX. An arithmetic section 12 uses an output of a ROM 11 accessed based on the processing result of a prediction means 9 in a RAM 7 and a ROM address calculation section 10 to convert the data 1b into coded data 2.
