Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a data collector which can secure data collected from terminals even when a host computer gets down.
CONSTITUTION: A host terminal 2 is connected to a host computer 7. A printer 8 is connected to the host terminal 2. The host terminal 2 is provided with a transmitting/receiving means 12 to receive data from terminals, memory 13 to hold data received by the transmitting/receiving means 12, CPU 11 for transmitting data to the host computer 7, and monitoring means 14 for monitoring the operation of the host computer 7. When the monitoring means 14 detects any abnormality in the host computer 7, the CPU 11 outputs the data held in the memory 13 by using the printer 8.
