Title:
DATA ENCODING METHOD FOR OPTICAL DISK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2999175
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data encoding method of an optical disk capable of realizing a high speed and a high density.
SOLUTION: In the data encoding method of an optical disk 10 which has the track 11 of a dual spiral structure having an adjecent first spiral 12 and a second spiral 14 and which is made so as to be able to write information simultaneously on the adjacent first spiral 12 and second spiral 14, this data encoding method utilizes 4-ary values by the presence or absence of pits 20 to be respectively formed on the first spiral 12 and the second spiral 14 and includes a step using a modulation code for 8-bit - 8-bit NRZI(non-return to zero inverted) recording and a step using an RLL(run-length limited) code in which the number of consecutive minimums zeros is two when a two channel marging bit is added in between respective 8-bit units and they are converted into 10-channel bits.
