Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely estimate an access of an operand system as well as a branch instruction and to extremely shorten the apparent access time to an MSU in reference to a device which estimates the next access in response to the access request of a CPU and performs an access based on the access estimating result to look ahead the data out of the MSU.
CONSTITUTION: A data look-ahead controller is provided with an AHT 21 which stores the continuous main access requests in pairs, a retrieving means 22 which retrieves the AHT 21, a the estimated access, a deciding means 25 which decides the coincidence between the next main access and the estimated access, and a switch means 26 which outputs the pre-read data of the means 24 to a CPU 1 when the estimated access processing ends with coincidence secured between both accesses and then switches the estimated access to the main access when the the estimated access processing is not completed yet with coincidence secured between both accesses.
