Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reproduce a sector accurately in a magnetic disc wherein the sector is recorded across a servo track so that not used region does not occur on a data track. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic disc 21, a track start pulse is recorded after a track end pulse strides across a servo region for a sector recorded across the servo region and a count circuit 13 stops counting operation based on the track end pulse. The count circuit 13 resumes counting operation upon reading out of the track start pulse. A control circuit 12 makes a decision for each sector that a data read out from the magnetic disc 21 is not a data in relevant sector if the count circuit 13 has stopped counting operation.
