PURPOSE: To improve the system throughput by decreasing a time required for selection processing of a required frame even when the number of senders sending the frame on a local area network is increased so as to reduce the processing time for one frame.

CONSTITUTION: Each of plural transmission frame senders being components of a local area network 13 is provided with a reception frame selection control section 10 and a memory 8 into which one sender address to be received is registered in advance. All sent frames are received and the selection section 10 gives the received frame to a main processor 2 only when the registered address in the memory 8 and the sender of the received frame are coincident. When noncoincident, the received frame is aborted. Thus, since only a single sender address has only to be retrieved as to the discrimination of the required frame or not, the retrieval processing time for the frame is very small and the performance of the system is improved.
