Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain equalization processing minimizing a residual error in the case of presence of a noise which properly traces even a fast fluctuation in a channel.
SOLUTION: The data receiver having a demodulator 4 with an adaptive control device and a tap coefficient correction device 5 correcting a tap coefficient of the demodulator by an adaptive algorithm is provided with a parameter setting means 8 controlling independently a parameter to specify the correction value of each tap coefficient corrected by the tap coefficient correction device for each tap coefficient. In the case of correcting the tap coefficient of the adaptive control device by the algorithm such as the LMS or the RLS, when the direction of the correction of the tap coefficient is unchanged between the preceding correction and the correction this time, it is decided to be a state before convergence, then a large correction coefficient or a large obliteration coefficient is set. When the direction of the correction of the tap coefficient is changed between the preceding correction and the correction this time, it is decided to be a state after convergence. Then a small correction coefficient or a small obliteration coefficient is set.
