PURPOSE: To make it possible to linearly record audio data and to make improvement in the durability and cost by arranging optical fibers according to data patterns in a head part, introducing the optical audio data from light emitting elements through optical fibers and irradiating a motion picture film with the audio data.

CONSTITUTION: The optical audio data from the light emitting elements 3 which are driven to be lighted according to the audio data to be recorded and emit the audio data by converting the electric audio data into the optical audio data are introduced from one end to the other end of the optical fibers 2. The other-side ends of the optical fibers 2 are so arranged as to be made into prescribed data patterns by the head part 1. The head part 1 irradiate the motion picture film with the optical audio data introduced to the other-side ends of the optical fibers 1 via exit ports 11a, thereby, the data patterns meeting the audio data are formed. The optical audio data from the elements 3 are introduced by the optical fibers 2 in such a manner and, therefore, the larger spacings between the respective elements are taken regardless of the arrangement of the optical fibers 2 meeting the data pattern constituted in the head part 1.
