Embodiments of this disclosure provide a data transmission method and apparatus and a system. The data transmission method includes: a terminal equipment performs channel detection and terminates the channel detection at a first time position, a result of the channel detection being that a channel is idle; and the terminal equipment transmits data starting from a second time position, the second time position being after the first time position, a first time length between the first time position and the second time position being less than or equal to a second time length. With the method of the embodiment of this disclosure, the terminal equipment terminates the channel detection after determining that the channel is idle, and transmits data after a time length (a first time length). As the first time length is less than or equal to a time length (the second time length) of an OFF-ON transient period to which the data correspond, a time length between terminating the channel detection and transmitting the data is reduced, thereby improving utilization of resources.
