To improve the reliability of cable connection by making the connecting element group of a system for transmitting data and currents to a horizontal boring machine installing and destructing/replacing a feed line movable in the relative axial direction between an electricity consuming body and a connecting cable.
This system for transmitting electric signals and currents is constituted of a drive adapter 10, a string adapter and a consumption adapter. The drive adapter 10 is connected to a data utilizing unit from a rotary drill string 11 and transmits electric signals to a stationary current collecting device 12. The current collecting device 12 is adapted to a holder 13 to be kept in contact with a slip ring 14. The slip ring 14 is rotated around the axis of the string 11 together with a string connection piece 15 and the string 11, it is fitted to the string connection piece 15 slidably in the axial direction, and its width is set so that the contact with the current collecting device 12 is maintained even when axial displacement occurs on the slip ring 14.
