Abstract:
PURPOSE: To further exactly transmit the change of the status signal of each status from a peripheral equipment to a controller by using the root of a valid tree structure as a start point, and branching it to the status indicating a lower- rank state included in the state indicating the status.
CONSTITUTION: The status signal of each status classified into the tree structure is stored in the memory of a machine control part in a laser printer 1. Then, when the status signal stored in the memory of at least one status included in a status group linked with the status indicating the lower-rank state is rewritten from '0' to '1', the status signal of the higher-rank status is rewritten from '0' to '1'. The rewritten status information of a 'position 1', 'jam generation', and 'error' of the status signal is transmitted from the machine control part in the laser printer 1 through a control interface 202 being a serial interface to a printer controller 200.
