Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update Value without giving a secret key to a database side.SOLUTION: A database system comprises: a database server; and a data terminal. The data terminal encrypts Value using a secret key when storing Value, calculates exclusive OR between encrypted Value and a first random number, transmits encrypted Value after adding Key, in which the random value is juxtaposed with the result of exclusive OR, and when Value is updated, transmits an encryption query including encrypted New Value obtained by encrypting New Value using the secret key in the same way with the above. In response to reception of the encryption query, the database server calculates a result of exclusive OR between the result of exclusive OR included in encrypted Value retrieved as a counterpart of Key and encrypted Value included in the encryption query, and when the obtained result matches the random value included in retrieved encrypted Value, updates encrypted Value in the database to encrypted New Value included in the encryption query.
