To provide a lighting device, taking sunlight into a living room at the first floor without receiving an influence of an irradiation angle of sunlight even when a balcony is provided at an upper floor of an opening of a building or a shielding object such as a building exists in an adjacent lot.

In this lighting device, a collapsible light transmitting diffusing plate 2 for transmitting and diffusing sunlight is vertically fitted to an outdoor side balcony base part 12a of a wall surface having the opening 9 of the building on the upside of the opening 9, and the sunlight is taken into the indoors through the light transmitting and diffusing plate 2.
