To improve an efficiency of a motor by arranging the relationship between the number of pole pairs abd the number of slots.

A DC motor with a concentrated winding type brush comprises a field magnet 4 having a plurality of pole pairs 5 in which N and S poles are used as one pole pair, a shaft 6, a commutator 7 having a plurality of segments 7a, and an armature 8. Lead wires 10 wound between adjacent slots 9 of the armature 8 constitute the concentrated winding type coil 11. A plurality of brushes 12 are provided so as to be able to be brought into contact with the commutator 7. The number of the pole pairs 5 (the number Np of the pole pairs) and the number of the slots 9 (the number Ns of the slots) are set so as to satisfy the relationship of [Ns=2×Np+1] or [Ns=2×Np+2] (wherein Np is a natural number). The number Np of the pole pairs is set to an odd number, and opposed segments 7a are conducted to each other. Heretofore, one of the pair of the opposed brushes 12 is omitted, and the opposed coils 10 are wound reversely to each other.
