PURPOSE: To provide a deaeration process for cleaning solvent wherein the gas included in the solvent can be efficiently and safely removed.
CONSTITUTION: Feed line 1 for feeding the cleaning solvent to be deaerated is connected to the deaeration column 2 and the expelling line 8 equipped with a pump 9 is also connected to the column 2 to send out the deaerated solvent from the column 2. Further, a liquid ring vacuum pump 3 is connected through the vacuum suction line 4 to the deaeration column 2, while the feed line 1 is inserted into the liquid ring tank 5 to effect heat exchange. In such a deaerator, a solvent having the inflammation point equal to or higher than that of the cleaning solvent to be deaerated is used as a liquid ring for the vacuum pump 3 to effect heat exchange between the sealing liquid and the cleaning solvent in the liquid ring tank 5, then the solvent is vacuum-deaerated.
