Title:
DECOMPOSITION METHOD OF DIOXINS OR POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006333986
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for executing the decomposition of dioxins or polychlorinated biphenyl at low cost without requiring massive equipment.

A substance to be treated containing dioxins or polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) is made to react with sulfur in hot water or steam to decompose dioxins or polychlorinated biphenyl. Additionally, a sulfide which is an ion complex of a metal, a metallic element which composes the sulfide or a mixture containing the metallic element is mixed together with the sulfur. Moreover, as the hot water for the reaction, the alkaline water, electrolyzed hot water or the hot water containing oil or grease is used. During the reaction, the electromagnetic induction heating by emitting an electromagnetic waves, irradiation with the cathode rays, ultraviolet rays or γ rays, the addition of a catalyst, or the addition of a substance composing an alkali body by a hydrolytic reaction is executed.
