To eliminate the drawback of any conventional decorated column, lintel or the like of rectangular cross section that a very unsightly gap is likely to form between it and an opening frame, and the drawback of any conventional column or lintel of approximately L-shaped cross section that because one end of an L-shaped member is mounted to abut the opening frame, such a column or lintel cannot cope with varying thicknesses of a wall with an opening, requiring decorative members to be cut and adjusted on site, which leads to a lot of labor and a very poor finishing accuracy.
The decorative member of approximately U- or L-shaped cross section comprises a decorative material stuck to the surface of a base constructed of a flat plate member of a predetermined thickness and a hanging piece provided on one or each horizontal end of the flat plate member. The decorative material is stuck to the butt end face and the back edge of the hanging piece.
