Abstract:

PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of production of cloisonne ware by using a patterned silk screen.

CONSTITUTION: The copper plate 3 to which a cloisonne ware is to be applied is placed on the base 4 below the framework 1 for silk screen, and the framework is provided with the foot 5 and the copper plate 3 is separated from the silk screen approx. 0.3mm apart. Then, the glaze 7 is placed on the closed mesh portion at the edge of the silk screen and then lightly rubbed one or two times by a rubber spatula, etc., in such a manner as to pass it through a patterned portion, whereupon the glaze 7 is dropped through a rough mesh portion from which the unnecessary color of the pattern is removed onto the underlying copper plate 3. In the same manner, another silk screen for another color is replaced on the copper plate and the same operations are repeated to finish a decoration. Afterwards, it is baked at approx. 800°C for 1W2min in an oven by the usual method.
