To provide a precoated steel panel excellent in processability and scratch resistance and having close adhesiveness, corrosion resistance and aesthetic appearance without using polyvinyl chloride.
A biaxially stretched film with a thickness of 20-150 μm comprising a resin based on polyethylene terephthalate is laminated to the single surface of a steel panel 1 through an adhesive layer 2 and an adhesive layer 4 is provided on the surface of the film 3 if necessary and an undercoat layer 5, a printing layer 6 and a topcoat layer 7 are further successively provided on the adhesive layer 4 by using synthetic resin paints. The number of times of the coating and printing of these layers 5, 6, 7 may be arbitrary. Excellent smoothness and good appearance equal to or more than those due to a coating/ printing method performed widely heretofore are provided to the resulting decorative steel panel and, in addition thereto, surface hardness, close adhesiveness, processability and corrosion resistance are also provided thereto. This decorative steel panel contains no chlorine having a fear causing environmental pollution and, even from an economical aspect, existing coating/printing technique can be put to practical use as it is and existing equipment can be also adapted to a film laminate.
