Abstract:

To provide a technique for securing a sufficient yield by suitably repairing local defects made in an oxide superconducting layer.

There is provided a defect repair method for oxide superconductive wire material that repairs a local defect 11a made in an oxide superconductive layer 11 of an oxide superconducting wire material, the defect repair method including a defect removing process of removing a place where the defect is made from the oxide superconducting layer; an oxide superconducting layer forming process of forming an oxide superconducting layer having the same composition with the oxide superconducting layer of the oxide superconducting wire material in the region where the defect is removed using a coating thermal decomposition method. There is provided a defect repair device for oxide superconducting wire material that repairs the local defect made in the oxide superconducting layer of the oxide superconducting wire material, the defect repair device for oxide superconducting wire material including oxide superconducting layer forming means of forming the oxide superconducting layer having the same composition in the region 11b where the defect is removed using the coating thermal decomposition method.
