To provide a dispersible tablet comprising, as an active ingredient effective as an iron chelating agent used in a patient requiring repeating blood transfusion, 4-[3, 5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1, 2, 4] triazol-1-yl] benzoic acid (a compound I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the tablet provides a type of oral administration that is easy in administration to an adult and a child and can supply a pharmaceutically active daily dosage.
A dispersible tablet consists of a compound I in an amount of from 5 to 40 wt.% based on the total weight of the tablet, preferably containing (a) the compound I or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and (b) at least one pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle suitable for production of the tablet, wherein the compound I or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is present in an amount of from 5 to 40 wt.% based on the total weight of the tablet.
