Title:
DEFLECTION SCANNING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3294734
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a deflection scanning device whose maintenance cost is low and also whose optical performance is stabilized by covering a rotary polygon mirror with a covering member.
CONSTITUTION: Surroundings of a rotary polygon mirror 3 and its motor 3a are covered by a covering member 10. Consequently, since reflection surfaces of the rotary polygon mirror 3 are effectively prevented from being contaminated by dust entering from the window 8 of an optical box 7 together with the outdoor air, etc., the maintenance cost of this deflection scanning device is reduced. Moreover, since the cylindrical part and the disk part of the covering member 10 are protruded from the lid of the optical box 7 to the outside, heat generated from the motor 3a of the rotary polygon mirror 3 and its bearing part, etc., is quickly released from the upper part of the covering member 10 and a fear that the temp. in the internal part of the member 10 is raised remarkably is not present even when the motor 3a made to be rotated at high speed. Thus, it is avoided that the optical performance of the deflection scanning device is degraded by the thermal strain of reflection surfaces when the rotary polygon mirror 3 is made to be rotated at high speed.
