PURPOSE: To improve deflection distortion and misconvergence by arranging permanent magnets near the angle position with the preset angle from the Y-axis on the large-diameter side of a deflection yoke respectively.

CONSTITUTION: A horizontal deflecting coil 5 is formed in a saddle shape and vertically divided into two across the X-axis, and these coils are positioned by a separator 2. A vertical deflecting coil 1 is formed in a saddle shape and divided into two across the Y-axis on the outer face of the separator like the coil 5, and these coils are positioned by the separator 2. A cone-shaped ferrite core 3 is fitted to cover the coil 1, and a deflection yoke 7 is constituted. Permanent magnets 41-44 are arranged near the angle position of about 20-30° from the Y-axis on the large-diameter side of the deflection yoke one each in the first through fourth quadrants. Deflection distortion and convergence can be concurrently corrected only by using four permanent magnets.
