Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by transferring waste heat of an ammonia refrigerant circuit to a carbon dioxide refrigerant circuit side for cooling and recovering the waste heat of the ammonia refrigerant circuit to use for defrosting.SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide circulation cooling system is provided, which includes: a carbon dioxide refrigerant circuit 13 circulating through a load-side cooler 11 having a cooling fan 11a and through a cascade condenser 12; an ammonia refrigerant circuit 14 circulating through the cascade condenser 12; a hot gas heat exchanger 16 converting the carbon dioxide refrigerant into hot gas by heat generation induced in the ammonia refrigerant; a defrosting circuit 15 supplying the carbon dioxide hot gas into the load-side cooler 11 for defrosting; and switching means switching over the carbon dioxide refrigerant circuit 13 to the defrosting circuit 15 and vice versa to connect to the load-side cooler 11. The system also includes a control unit 10, which stops the cooling fan 11a of the load-side cooler 11 on receiving a defrosting signal, and switches on a defrosting operation after a prescribed time.
