CONSTITUTION: Integral heating capacity calculating means 6-1 periodically reads the suction pressure P2 of a compressor 12 of a heat source side unit 10 to be detected by a low pressure detector 2 and a compressor output corresponding to both the pressures of temporary discharge pressures from the suction pressure from compressor output storing means 5, corrects it according to preset superheat S and supercooling SC, calculates integral heating capacity Sn from the start of heating operation immediately after the defrosting is finished, and stores it. Mean heating capacity calculating means 7 divides the capacity Sn by the sum of the heating time from the restart of the heating operation up to the present time and predicting defrosting time obtained by the previous defrosting time or calculation to calculate mean heating capacity Qn, and stores it. Comparing means 8 compares the this time value of the capacity Qn with the previous value, and outputs a defrost signal when this time value is smaller.
